Steel products — six families, one supplier

How this catalogue is organised

The six families above follow the production route, not the application — hot-rolled, cold-rolled and coated flat, hollow sections and open sections, welded and seamless pipe, stainless, roofing. That is deliberate: the route decides the tolerance class, the surface, the certificate and the price base, and two products that look alike in a building can come from different routes and cost 40 % apart. A 2 mm galvanized sheet and a 2 mm cold-rolled sheet are the same thickness and the same steel; one carries 275 g/m² of zinc and belongs outdoors, the other is bare and rusts in a week if the oil is wiped off.

"Manufacturer" and "from stock" on the cards

Every card carries one of two badges, and they mean different things for your lead time and your price.

Manufacturer — we roll it ourselves at Dilovası: all roofing and cladding profiles, sandwich panels, square and rectangular hollow sections, galvanized and DKP pipe, C/Z/omega/M purlins, steel grating and guardrail posts. Length, wall, coating and hole pattern follow your order rather than a catalogue, the minimum is a production run (300 m² or 5 t depending on the product), and the lead time is 3–12 working days from drawing approval.

From stock — we hold it in the Dilovası yard and process it: plate, coil, beams, channels, angles, stainless, seamless pipe. The size is what the mill rolled, the minimum is a truck or a container, and the lead time is 2–10 working days, plus cutting. Anything we do not hold comes from the mill programme in 2–6 weeks, which is worth knowing before you plan a shipment around it.

Reading a size before you send an enquiry

Three notations collide in steel enquiries and each one costs a day of e-mails when it is ambiguous.

Flat products are thickness × width × length in millimetres, always in that order: 2 × 1250 × 2500. For coated sheet the thickness may be quoted as TCT (total coated thickness, what you measure) or BMT (base metal thickness, the steel alone) — a 0.50 TCT galvanized sheet is about 0.47 BMT, and specifying the wrong one is a 6 % weight dispute. Gauge numbers (20 ga, 24 ga) are not a standard and differ between the US and UK systems; give millimetres.

Pipe is quoted by nominal bore (1", DN 25) or by outside diameter (33.7 mm) — they are not the same number, and a 1" pipe has an OD of 33.7 mm, not 25 mm. Say which one you mean, and add the wall or the schedule.

Sections are height × width × wall for hollow sections (100 × 50 × 3, the height first), and the designation for rolled sections (IPE 200, HEB 300, UPN 160, L 50 × 50 × 5). An RHS laid on its side is a different beam from the same section stood upright; if the drawing matters, send the drawing.

Building an order that fills a container

Minimums apply per item, not per shipment, and that is the one thing that changes what a small order costs. A 20 t container of a single size is the cheapest steel you will buy from us; a 20 t container of eleven different sizes costs a little more per ton in handling but the same in freight, and it is almost always cheaper than eleven separate shipments. So the practical rule is: reach the per-item minimum (one coil, 5 t of sections, 300 m² of a roofing profile), then mix freely up to the container.

What limits the load is usually not the weight. Roofing sheet and sandwich panel fill a 40' HC by volume at 12–13 t, less than half its weight capacity — so a container of panels has room for several tons of purlins, flashings and screws at no extra freight. Plate and sections do the opposite: they reach 24–25 t long before the box is full. Mixing a volume product with a dense one is how a shipment ends up at both 100 % of the space and 100 % of the payload, and we plan the bundles that way when the enquiry lists everything at once.
