What is an angle bar?
An angle is a hot-rolled L-shaped section with two legs at 90°, equal (both legs the same, e.g. 50×50×5) or unequal (e.g. 100×65×8). It is the simplest structural shape and the cheapest per ton after flat bar, and it does everything from lattice towers and roof trusses to shelf frames: bracing, purlin cleats, tank stiffening rings, lintel supports, door and window frames, gratings and platform edges, machine guards, racking, fence and guardrail posts, and the diagonals of transmission towers (S355J2, galvanized). MS angle, angle iron and L bar are trade names for the same product.

Grades and galvanizing
S235JR is the stock grade for fabrication, frames and racking; S275JR / S355J2 for trusses, towers and bracing designed to Eurocode; S355J2 hot-dip galvanized (EN ISO 1461, 70–85 µm) is the transmission-tower and telecom-mast standard — supplied punched to the tower drawing. Stainless 304/316 angles and aluminium on request.
Tolerances (EN 10056-2)
Leg length ±1.0 mm (≤ 50), ±1.5 (50–100), ±2 (100–150), ±3 (150–200); thickness ±0.5–1.0 mm; squareness 90° ±1° (±0.5° for towers on request); straightness 0.4% of length; length ±50/−0 mm on 6/12 m, ±5 mm cut.
Cutting, punching, drilling
Cut to length, mitred 45°, punched or drilled (tower and racking hole patterns on the angle line), notched, welded into frames and gratings, galvanized after fabrication. Tower and truss kits ship bundled by mark number with the bolt list.
