What is slotted angle?
Slotted angle is a light cold-formed steel angle punched along both legs with a repeating pattern of slots and round holes, so any two pieces bolt together at any point without drilling. Invented for adjustable shelving (the Dexion pattern), it now builds storage racks, archive and stock shelving, workbenches and tables, machine guards and frames, conveyor supports, partition frames, display stands and site-camp furniture. Two sizes cover most work: 40 × 40 × 2 mm (general) and 50 × 50 × 2 mm (heavier racks); 36 × 36 is the light shelving size. We roll and punch it on our own line from pre-galvanized strip or painted cold-rolled steel.

Rack and shelving kits
A kit ships flat-packed: 4 uprights (2 000–2 400 mm), 4 shelf frames per level (front/back angles + side angles), shelf panels in 0.6–0.8 mm galvanized or powder-coated steel (or 12–18 mm MDF), diagonal braces, plastic feet, M8 × 16 bolts with nuts and washers (about 120 per 5-shelf bay), corner plates and a spanner. Standard bays 900 × 300, 900 × 450, 1 200 × 450 and 1 200 × 600 mm; 4–6 shelves; colours grey, blue, or galvanized. About 300–450 five-shelf kits per 40' HC.

Finish
Pre-galvanized Z140–Z275 (rolled from galvanized strip, cut edges exposed — fine indoors and in dry stores) is the export standard; powder-coated RAL 7035 grey, 5010 blue, 3020 red or 7016 anthracite on cold-rolled steel for shops and offices; hot-dip galvanized after forming for outdoor and humid use.
