What is RAL 9010 PPGI sheet?
RAL 9010, Reinweiß / pure white, is a neutral white with a barely perceptible warm tint — brighter and cleaner than 9002, softer than the blue-white 9016. It reflects about 85 % of visible light, which is why it is the interior colour of cold stores, food-processing halls, clean rooms, hospitals, laboratories and retail buildings: it makes the most of the lighting and shows any contamination immediately. On PPGI it is supplied with a 25 µm polyester system whose top coat is food-contact approved (EN 1186 / FDA 21 CFR 175.300 migration tests) for indirect contact in food plants, with an anti-microbial variant on request, over DX51D+Z100–Z140 galvanized steel; PVDF is used where the building is also the exterior face and colour must hold for 25 years. Its weaknesses are the ones of any bright white — it shows dirt streaks, algae and rust-run more than 9002 outdoors, and batch differences are visible where two whites meet — so on external walls it is specified for prestige façades, shopfronts and signage bands rather than plain warehouses. We hold 0.40, 0.50 and 0.60 mm in stock for sandwich-panel skins and liner sheet and can cut sheet up to 12 m.

Food, cold-store and clean-room use
| Requirement | How it is met | Document |
|---|---|---|
| Indirect food contact | food-grade polyester top coat, low-migration | EN 1186 / FDA 21 CFR 175.300 test report |
| Cleanability | smooth 30–40 gloss or high-gloss surface, no embossing | ECCA T-tests, wipe test |
| Chemical resistance | resists dilute alkaline and acid cleaners, chlorine ≤ 200 ppm | EN 13523-18 report |
| Fire behaviour | coating A1 / A2-s1,d0 classified on steel | EN 13501-1 classification |
| Low temperature | coating flexible to −40 °C (freezer stores) | T-bend / impact at −40 °C |
| Light reflectance | LRV ≥ 80 % for lighting design | colour data sheet |
Sandwich panels for cold stores use 9010 on both faces; the joints, not the sheet, decide the hygiene rating.

Steel at 7.85 kg/dm³ plus Z100 zinc and 25/7 µm paint (≈ 0.10 kg/m²); thickness is the total coated thickness (TCT) unless bare metal (BMT) is specified.
Forming, cutting and handling
Forms and folds like any PE-coated PPGI (T-bend ≤ 2T); shear, slit and punch — no thermal cutting. White shows every mark: keep the film on until the panel is installed, use clean gloves, do not drag sheets over each other, and store dry. Match all visible faces from one batch. Cleaning in service with neutral or mildly alkaline detergents; no abrasive pads.
Where it is used
- Cold-store, freezer and chiller sandwich panels (both faces)
- Food, dairy, meat and beverage plant walls and ceilings
- Clean rooms, hospitals, laboratories and pharma buildings
- Supermarket, showroom and office cladding and soffits
- Interior liner sheet where light reflectance matters
- Signage bands, fascias and shopfronts
RAL 9010 vs 9002 vs 9016
RAL 9002 is the warmer, dirt-hiding off-white for roofs and warehouses at a lower price. RAL 9016 traffic white is a cooler, bluer white used for window and door frames and some panel systems — it looks bluish next to 9010. For hygienic interiors and bright retail exteriors, 9010 is the specified colour.
Price
RAL 9010 is priced a little above the base 9002 (about 15 USD/t) on the PPGI list, and the food-grade or high-gloss systems add per system; the bands below are indicative FOB Istanbul.

Certificates and testing
RAL 9010 PPGI sheet is delivered with the mill certificate EN 10204 3.1 — heat number, ladle analysis, tensile and impact results and the delivery condition. Third-party 3.2 certification (Lloyd's, BV, TÜV, SGS), ultrasonic testing to EN 10160 and extra Charpy tests at a lower temperature are ordered per lot.
How to order
Specify RAL 9010, thickness (TCT), width, coil or sheet length, system (PE / food-grade PE / PVDF), gloss level, zinc class, backing coat (15 µm for double-sided cold-store panels), film and quantity; state if a migration or fire certificate is required.

Frequently asked questions
What colour is RAL 9010?
Pure white — a neutral, clean white with a very slight warm tint, brighter than 9002 and warmer than 9016; the standard white of cold stores, food plants and retail buildings.
Is RAL 9010 PPGI food-safe?
Yes when supplied with the food-contact-approved polyester or PVDF top coat, tested to EN 1186 / FDA 21 CFR 175.300 for indirect contact; ask for the certificate with the order.
RAL 9010 or RAL 9016 — which white?
9010 is slightly warm and matches most panel systems; 9016 is cooler and bluer and matches PVC window frames. Do not mix them on one face.
Can RAL 9010 be used outdoors?
Yes — on façades, shopfronts and fascias, preferably with SMP or PVDF for colour retention; on plain industrial roofs 9002 hides dirt better.
What thickness for cold-store panels?
0.50 mm outer and 0.50–0.60 mm inner skin is standard; 0.40 mm for light partition panels.
