How do you calculate the weight of a steel sheet?
Weight (kg) = thickness (mm) × width (m) × length (m) × 7.85. A 2 mm × 1.25 m × 2.5 m sheet weighs 2 × 1.25 × 2.5 × 7.85 = 49.1 kg.
What is the density of stainless steel?
7.90–8.00 kg/dm³ for austenitic 304/316 (use 7.93), 7.70 for ferritic 430. Galvanized sheet adds the zinc mass: Z275 adds about 0.275 kg/m² to the bare weight.
How many sheets in a ton?
Divide 1 000 by the sheet weight: for 1.5 mm × 1 250 × 2 500 mm (36.8 kg) about 27 sheets per ton.
