What is PPGI?
PPGI stands for pre-painted galvanized iron (steel): a hot-dip galvanized coil that is cleaned, chromate- or chromate-free-pretreated, primed (5–8 µm epoxy or polyurethane) and top-coated (15–35 µm) on a continuous coil-coating line, with a backing coat (5–12 µm) on the reverse. The paint is cured in seconds at 230–250 °C and the coil is rewound, film-protected if required, and shipped colour-finished. PPGL is the same process on an aluzinc (AZ150) substrate. The product replaces post-painting: a roofing sheet, a sandwich-panel skin, a refrigerator door or a roller shutter is formed from PPGI and needs no further finishing.

Forming, cutting and protective film
PPGI is roll-formed (our trapezoidal, corrugated and tile lines), press-braked (bend radius ≥ 1–2T at 20 °C for PE, 0T for plastisol), slit and cut-to-length, and laser-cut with the film on; guillotine cut edges are protected by the zinc and primer. A 40–80 µm PE protective film (clear or printed) is applied on request for shutters, doors and appliance panels; remove within 30 days of forming. Do not form below 10 °C for PE coatings.
Applications
- Trapezoidal, corrugated and tile-profile roofing and cladding (see roofing pages)
- Sandwich-panel skins (RAL 9002/9010, PE or PVDF)
- Roller shutters, garage and steel doors, door frames
- Appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, water heaters, AC casings
- Ceiling panels, partitions, cable trays, furniture, shelving
- Gutters, downpipes, flashings, ductwork

Frequently asked questions
What is PPGI?
Pre-painted galvanized iron (steel): hot-dip galvanized coil coated on a continuous line with primer and a polyester, PVDF or plastisol top coat in RAL colours, delivered ready to form. PPGL is the same on an aluzinc substrate.
What is the full form of PPGI and PPGL?
PPGI = pre-painted galvanized iron; PPGL = pre-painted galvalume (aluzinc). Both are colour-coated steel to EN 10169 / ASTM A755.
Which coating: polyester or PVDF?
Polyester (PE 25 µm) for standard roofing, cladding and panels — 10–15 years; PVDF (35 µm) for architectural façades, Gulf sun and colour stability — 25–35 years at 15–25% more. Plastisol (200 µm) for coastal, industrial and agricultural roofs.
What colours are in stock?
RAL 9002, 9010, 9006, 3009, 5010, 6005, 7016 and 8017 in 0.35–0.70 mm; any other RAL from 5 t per shade in 2–4 weeks.
What thickness is PPGI roofing sheet?
0.40–0.50 mm base metal for most roofs (0.45–0.55 mm total coated thickness), 0.30–0.35 mm for budget corrugated sheet, 0.60–0.70 mm for long spans. Always specify base-metal thickness (BMT).
Can PPGI be bent and roll-formed?
Yes — PE coatings take a 1–2T bend, plastisol 0T; roll-forming into trapezoidal, corrugated and tile profiles is done on our own lines from the same coil. Avoid forming below 10 °C.
What is the price of PPGI per ton?
See the indicative FOB Istanbul bands above for PE on Z140; PVDF, plastisol, aluzinc substrate and dark colours add 3–40%. Firm price within one working day.
Do you supply PPGI cut to sheets or as roofing profiles?
Both: coils, cut-to-length flat sheets, slit strip, and roll-formed trapezoidal, corrugated and tile-profile sheets with matching flashings.
