What is DC04 cold-rolled steel?
DC04 is the first EN 10130 grade with guaranteed drawing indices: r90 ≥ 1.6 (the sheet flows from the flange rather than thinning in the wall) and n90 ≥ 0.18 (strain spreads instead of localising). It is made from a clean, aluminium-killed heat with at most 0.08 % carbon and 0.40 % manganese, batch- or continuously annealed for a strong drawing texture, then lightly skin-passed; the result is a soft sheet (yield 140–200 MPa typical, 210 max) with 38 % elongation and a six-month non-ageing guarantee. In practice DC04 draws parts to a depth roughly equal to their diameter in one stroke — sinks, bowls, cups, cylinders, housings, oil pans — and survives two or three redraws without intermediate annealing. It is the most-used drawing grade in Turkey, produced by Erdemir in the full 0.40–3.0 mm range, and the one we stock; DC05 and DC06 (r ≥ 1.9 and ≥ 2.1) are automotive-class extensions available to order. Surface B matt for painting, bright for plating; the oil film is a drawing lubricant in itself for light draws.

Forming, welding and painting
Draw ratios to 2.0 in the first stroke, redraws without annealing; polished tools, blank-holder pressure tuned to the low yield, drawing oil or the mill oil for light draws. Ironing and flanging are routine. Spot and projection welding with slightly lower current than DC01; laser welding clean. Painting after degreasing; phosphate for e-coat; plating on bright finish. Keep within the non-ageing period for exposed panels.
Where it is used
- Kitchen sinks, bowls and catering ware (carbon-steel enamelled)
- Filter, pump and compressor housings
- Oil pans, sumps and tank halves
- Gas-bottle and fire-extinguisher shells (with EN 10130 cross-reference)
- Automotive body and chassis pressings
- Deep-drawn luminaire, motor and appliance parts
DC04 vs DC05 / DC06
DC05 raises r90 to 1.9 and elongation to 40 % (yield ≤ 180 MPa); DC06 — interstitial-free steel — to r90 ≥ 2.1, 38 %, yield ≤ 180 MPa, with no ageing at all. They are automotive outer-panel and extreme-draw grades, made to order in 4–6 weeks. DC04 covers the great majority of industrial deep drawing from stock; go higher only when the draw ratio exceeds about 2.1 or the specification names the grade. See DC05 and DC06; for the galvanized twin see DX54D.
Price
DC04 is priced about 20 USD/t over DC01; the band below is the month's indicative FOB Istanbul range for our stock. Bright finish, surface B and blanks are priced per ton or per piece.
Bands from our weekly export list (September 2026), FOB Istanbul, full-container quantities, excluding freight and certificates. Firm price per project on RFQ within one working day.
Export and packing
We load DC04 cold-rolled steel as slit or master coils on cradles (VCI paper, strapped, 5–25 t) or as cut-to-length sheet on skids (≤ 3 t, interleaved, edge boards); a 20' container carries one coil to 20 t, a 40' HC two coils or 24 t of sheet. HS 7210 / 7209 / 7208.

Certificates and testing
Every lot of DC04 cold-rolled steel carries an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate listing heat, chemistry, mechanical and impact results. On request we add 3.2 witnessing by a classification society or inspector, EN 10160 ultrasonic testing and supplementary impact tests at the customer's design temperature.

Frequently asked questions
What is DC04 steel?
The deep-drawing cold-rolled sheet of EN 10130 (1.0338, ex St 14): Al-killed, yield ≤ 210 MPa, elongation ≥ 38 %, guaranteed r90 ≥ 1.6 and n90 ≥ 0.18, non-ageing — the standard sheet for sinks, cups, housings and automotive pressings.
What is the difference between DC01 and DC04?
DC04 has cleaner chemistry, a lower yield ceiling (210 vs 280 MPa), 38 % vs 28 % elongation, guaranteed drawing indices and a non-ageing guarantee; DC01 is the bending grade.
What is the equivalent of DC04?
DIN St 14, JIS SPCE, ASTM A1008 DDS Type A, GB DC04 — all deep-drawing cold-rolled sheet.
What is the r-value of DC04?
Guaranteed r90 ≥ 1.6 (typically 1.7–2.0) and n90 ≥ 0.18 — the plastic strain ratio and work-hardening exponent that define deep-drawability.
Is DC04 in stock in Turkey?
Yes — 0.50–3.0 mm coil and sheet at our Dilovası warehouse, cut to blank size on request.
