What is PPGI trapezoidal sheet?
PPGI — pre-painted galvanized iron, colour-coated steel — is galvanized coil that has been cleaned, chromated or phosphated, primed and top-coated in a continuous coil-coating line to EN 10169: a 5 µm primer and a 20 µm polyester top coat on the face, a 5–8 µm backing coat on the reverse, over Z100–Z140 zinc on DX51D or S280GD steel. Because the paint is cured on the flat coil at 230 °C it is harder, more uniform and better bonded than any post-painting, and it survives the roll-forming of the trapezoidal profile without cracking (polyester is flexible to a 2T bend). The result is a roof that comes in colour, reflects or absorbs heat according to that colour, lasts 10–15 years in a temperate inland climate on standard PE and 20–30 with SMP, HDP or PVDF systems, and — because the zinc is still there — behaves like a galvanized roof at scratches and cut edges. We roll PPGI in all our profiles: 27/150 for walls, 38/151 for roofs, 45/333 for long spans and 18/76 corrugated; from stock coil in six colours — RAL 9002 grey white (the industrial standard), 9010 pure white, 3009 oxide red, 7016 anthracite, 6005 moss green and 1018 zinc yellow — and from any RAL or a customer colour on a 10 t coil order. Gauges 0.40 mm for walls and light roofs, 0.50 mm as the standard roof, 0.60–0.70 mm for snow and long spans. The trims — ridge, eaves, verge, corner and window flashings, gutters — are folded from the same coil, and screws come with painted heads, so the whole envelope is one colour batch.

Dark colours reach 70–80 °C in summer sun — insulate or ventilate below and allow thermal movement in long sheets.

All systems on Z100–Z275 zinc; the zinc class matters as much as the paint at cut edges and scratches.
Lengths and stock
Six colours in 0.40–0.50 mm PE are held in coil and rolled into any profile within 3–7 working days; 0.60–0.70 mm, matt, SMP / HDP / PVDF and other RAL colours are ordered as 10 t coils in 2–4 weeks. Flashings, gutters, closures and painted-head screws are made and packed with the sheets in the same colour batch.
Fixing, handling and colour matching
Fix as for the profile (crest screws with EPDM washers and painted heads; stitched laps); keep the protective film or paper on until installed and remove within 6 months; never drag sheets over each other — the paint scratches to zinc. Cut with shears or nibbler (an abrasive disc burns the paint and throws hot swarf that rusts on the surface — sweep the roof at the end of each day). Touch up cut edges and scratches with the matching PPGI repair paint we supply. Order roof, wall, flashings and gutters together for one colour batch; a second batch may differ by a visible ΔE.

PPGI vs galvanized vs sandwich panel

PPGI trapezoidal is priced per m² by gauge, colour and paint system on the roofing list — 9002 PE is the base coloured price, other colours add a small premium, SMP / PVDF more — and follows the galvanized coil and paint indices; the bands below are the month\'s indicative FOB Istanbul ranges for 0.40 and 0.50 mm PE. Flashings per metre, gutters per metre, screws per hundred.

Export and packing
PPGI sheets are packed 30–50 per pack with kraft paper between every sheet (PE film on request), strapped on timber bearers with edge boards and PE-wrapped, each pack labelled with profile, colour, system, gauge, length and count; 2 400–3 200 m² of 6 m sheets per 40' HC by profile, long sheets on flat-rack from Derince. Flashings, gutters and screws travel in the same load, boxed by colour. HS 7210.70 / 7308.90.
