What is Galvanized rectangular tube?
Galvanized rectangular tube is the rectangular twin of our pre-galvanized square range: DX51D+Z275 strip from EN 10346, slit, roll-formed to a rectangle and HF-welded, with the seam zinc-repaired in line, in 20×30 to 50×100 mm and 1.35–3 mm walls. The zinc (about 20 µm per side) protects for 10–15 years in a temperate outdoor climate without paint, and the smooth, spangle-free surface takes powder coating after a simple degrease. Because the rectangle gives depth in one direction, it is the rail and beam member of the same light outdoor frames the square tube provides the posts for — gate rails, greenhouse purlins, rack beams, pergola members, sign frames. For structural or long-life use we supply black S235JRH/S355J2H rectangular tube hot-dip galvanized after fabrication to EN ISO 1461 instead.

Lengths and stock
Length 6 m (+50/−0); cut lengths ±3 mm. Stock: 20×30, 20×40, 30×40, 30×50, 40×60, 40×80 in 1.35–2 mm; 50×100 in 2–3 mm within a week. Tolerances EN 10219-2; coating per EN 10346.
Cutting, welding and coating
As for galvanized square tube: cut ends and welds are zinc-sprayed, fume extraction when welding, powder coating after degreasing. For structural or long-life outdoor use, order black RHS and hot-dip galvanize after fabrication.

Pre-galvanized vs black rectangular tube
Black rectangular hollow section is the choice for anything structural, welded heavily or galvanized afterwards; pre-galvanized RHS saves the coating step for light outdoor frames. Square sizes: galvanized square tube.
