Fibre laser cutting — plate parts to 25 mm on our own machines

Laser cutting is the service we sell most with plate: the customer sends a DXF or STEP file, we nest it on stock plate from our own racks, cut it on 12 kW fibre lasers and ship the parts with the rest of the order — no second supplier, no transport between mill and cutter, and one certificate for the material and the parts.

Machines and capacity

Two 12 kW fibre lasers with 6 000 × 2 000 mm shuttle tables (one 8 000 × 2 500 mm), automatic nozzle change and loading; 24-hour operation, about 300 t of parts a month. Cutting gases: oxygen for carbon steel above 6 mm, nitrogen for stainless, galvanized, aluminium and for oxide-free edges on thin carbon steel.

Tolerances and quality

Positional and contour tolerance ±0.1 mm up to 10 mm, ±0.2 mm to 25 mm (ISO 9013 class 1–2); kerf 0.2–0.5 mm; perpendicularity within 0.05 mm per mm of thickness; minimum hole diameter equal to thickness (0.7 × t with nitrogen). Micro-joints, etching of part numbers, common-line cutting and film-on cutting of stainless on request. Every job is checked against the drawing on a first-off before the batch runs.

Files, nesting and material

After cutting

Deburring and edge rounding (R 0.5–2 mm), tapping, countersinking, press-brake bending, shot blasting and priming, galvanizing (arranged) and welding assembly are done in the same plant — see the related services. Parts are packed on pallets or in boxes by drawing number with a packing list.

Pricing and lead time

Laser cutting is charged per running metre of cut by thickness and material (piercings counted), plus the material at list price if we supply it; the offer shows the two lines and the nesting yield. Typical rates: 1–3 USD/m for 1–3 mm, 4–8 USD/m for 8–12 mm, 12–20 USD/m for 20–25 mm carbon steel with oxygen. Lead time 3–7 working days after file approval; 24–48 h express for small batches from stock plate. Export parts are shipped with the material order or as a separate palletised lot.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum thickness you laser cut?

25 mm carbon steel (oxygen), 20 mm stainless (nitrogen), 15 mm aluminium, 4 mm galvanized / PPGI.

What file format do you need?

DXF or DWG at 1:1 with closed contours, or STEP; PDF drawings are redrawn for a small fee.

Do you supply the steel as well?

Yes — parts are nested on our stock plate and invoiced as cutting + material; you can also send your own plate.

How accurate is laser cutting?

±0.1 mm to 10 mm thickness and ±0.2 mm to 25 mm (ISO 9013 class 1–2), kerf 0.2–0.5 mm.

How long does it take?

3–7 working days after file approval; express 24–48 h for small batches; shipped with your steel order.
